Andrew Wyeth r.i.p.

One of America's finest living artists has finally passed away at the age of 91. Wyeth's first New York show in 1936 brought him instant success and images like his "Christina's World" (1948) have been as widely printed as Klimt's "Kiss". He received many honours and was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received the Gold Medal of Honor from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

He'll be remembered for his (fetishistic) use of Tempera and his strange sunless visions of central USA.
